Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, and his wife, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, welcomed a baby girl on Thursday. He took to social media and shared the joyous news, stating that both mother and baby were in good health.

He wrote, “God has given the gift of a daughter. Both mother and the child are healthy,” Mann shared in a message in Punjabi on X.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tied the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur on July 7, 2022. The wedding ceremony was kept simple. The marriage took place in Chandigarh, where several members of the Aam Aadmi Party, including Delhi’s Chief Minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal, and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, were present. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, the wife of Chief Minister Mann, hails from Pehowa in Kurukshetra, Haryana. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur gave birth to their newborn at Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Thursday.

This marks Mann’s third child, as he already has a son and a daughter from his previous marriage to Inderpreet Kaur. He divorced Inderpreet in 2015, and she, along with their children, Seerat, aged 23, and Dilshan, aged 19, reside in the US.
During his Republic Day address in Ludhiana, Mann surprised the audience by announcing that he and his wife were expecting a baby in March. He urged people not to undergo sex determination tests, emphasizing that they had chosen not to discover the gender of the baby and wouldn’t do so in the future either.
