Punjab: In a shocking incident that took place in Ferozepur’s Guru Har Sahai on Saturday night, a 25-year-old Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sarpanch reportedly died by suicide. According to reports, the young sarpanch allegedly took his life by shooting himself with a licenced pistol. The incident occurred around 11.20 pm, moments after the sarpanch posted an emotional ghazal on his Facebook.

The ghazal read, “Jadon meri arthi utha ke chalange, mere yaar sabh hum hama ke chalnge, Chalange mere nall dushman vi mere eh vakhri e gal muskrat ke chalange” –When they carry my coffin, my friends will walk along, everyone will walk together. Even my enemies will walk with me; that’s a different story, they’ll walk with a smile.
Reason Of Death Remains Unknown
The exact reason behind his extreme step, however, remains unknown as of now. According to a Superintendent of Police (investigation), neither the deceased’s family has filed any complaint, nor has a suicide note been found at the scene. Reports revealed that the body was cremated, and initiated proceedings are ongoing in the incident under Section 174 of the CrPC.
