Pune, Maharashtra: In a horrifying incident, a Class 9 student of a Pune school reportedly slit his classmate’s throat following a minor dispute over an Annual Day function. The victim identified as a 15-year-old lodged a police complaint on November 20.
The 14-year-old accused has been detained by the police on grounds of attempted murder. He has been charged under Sections 109 and 351 (3) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Indian Express reported.
According to the police, the accused student in a fit of rage allegedly attacked the victim from behind inside the classroom. He slit his throat with a glass piece at noon time on Tuesday, injuring him, reports added.

Police said that the accused even threatened to kill the complainant boy. After being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), the accused was sent to an observation home.
The incident reportedly took place in the absence of teachers while they were busy preparing for the Annual Day. Assistant police inspector Ketaki Chavan informed that the victim is in stable condition and an investigation is underway.
