Shivani Agarwal, the mother of a 17-year-old implicated in a fatal Porsche accident in Pune, has been detained. This arrest follows revelations that the teenager’s blood sample for an alcohol test was swapped with that of a woman at Sassoon Hospital, leading to suspicions that the sample might have been hers. After these allegations surfaced, she became unreachable.
Authorities indicated that her detention is related to evidence tampering and her presence at the hospital during the blood sample collection. She is scheduled for questioning at 11:30 am.
Shivani had previously given a statement to the Pune crime branch at her home. The crime branch has also summoned several nurses from Sassoon Hospital for questioning about the blood sample swap.

A report by Sassoon Hospital doctors was submitted to an investigation panel on May 29. The Maharashtra medical education department formed this committee, led by Dr. Pallavi Sapale of Grants Medical College, after police alleged that the teenager’s blood samples were replaced with those of another individual, showing no alcohol presence.
Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the hospital’s forensic medicine department, chief medical officer Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and staff member Atul Ghatkamble have been arrested in relation to the incident.
The accident occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals in their 20s after their motorcycle was struck by a speeding Porsche, allegedly driven by the intoxicated teenager, son of builder Vishal Agarwal.
