Pune: A 22-year-old Pakistani national has been arrested for allegedly illegally staying in Pune with the help of forged documents, an official said on Wednesday.
According to information, Khadak police have booked a Pakistani Citizen ‘Mohammad Amaan Ansari’ Whose mother is an Indian citizen, under charges of cheating and forgery in the Indian Penal Code and provision of the foreigner’s Act and Passports Act as well.
Director General of Police, Sandip Singh said, “The boy (Amaan Ansari) was born in Karachi, Pakistan. His Father is Pakistani and his mother is Indian. They shifted to Dubai from Karachi and in 2015 both mother-son duos moved to India and started living in Pune with their relatives. That time, Amaan had a valid visa”.
He went to a school and later attended a junior college in Pune city but his visa expired in the meantime, the senior officer said.
Instead of applying for renewal of visa, he managed to get a fake Aadhaar card and based on Aadhaar he got an Indian passport too, DGP added.
Police will now investigate how Ansari managed to get an Aadhaar card and Indian passport.
