In the recent development regarding Pune EY employee’s death, her father, Sibi Joseph has revealed about his daughter’s condition before she died on July 21.
Speaking to ANI, Sibi Jospeh, father of Anna, said that her daughter had passed Chartered Account (CA) exams and decided to join EY on March 18. He told that Anna was selected in Deloitte also. She started with regular auditing after one week of her joining. There are 6 audit teams in EY Pune and she was put in the sixth. The work was allotted by the Assistant Manager and reviewed by the Audit Manager. The parents had accompanied her to Pune for the accommodation.
Talking about Anna’s workload he said that she had to work till late night. Even after reaching the PG, she was handed over an additional work which was not concerned with her. She wasn’t getting time to sleep and have food. He mentioned that stress and ‘work pressure’ was there.
She had to sit in office till 12:30 PM to complete the tasks assigned to her and would reach her PG around 1:30 PM. This all didn’t allow her much time to take proper rest.
In his interview with ANI, her father has made serious revelation about the manager. He said that Anna’s manager would change the schedule according to his likes. Also, he reviewed the work during his schedule only. “He is a cricket fan and would change his schedule during matches”, he added. During one of the T20 matches he changed his schedule and due to that change Anna had to work till late. He said that Anna collapsed on July 21 and died before reaching the hospital.
He mentioned that despite all the issues and problems she was facing, Anna decided to continue with EY Pune because of the exposure she was getting.
He said that Union Minister Suresh Gopi met the family and has said that he will raise the issue in the Parliament.
