Earlier, NCP MP Supriya Sule advocated for the flyover to be named after Senapati Bapat, as it serves as the gateway to Mulshi tehsil. The proposed naming aims to honor Bapat’s significant contributions to Mulshi.
About Chandni Chowk:
Chandni Chowk witnesses around 150,000 daily commuters, necessitating the construction of a new bridge due to frequent traffic bottlenecks. The prior bridge at Chandni Chowk, erected by the PWD in 1992, was dismantled in October 2022. While the existing traffic situation at Chandni Chowk has led to local grievances, the community anticipates reduced congestion following the official opening of the flyover.
