Thiruvananthapuram: The ruling Left Democratic Party (LDF) in Kerala has announced to take out a protest march on November 15 against the state Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.
The party has alleged that the Governor trying to destroy self rule in the university using powers in his capacity as Chancellor.
This comes as the Governor has disapproved appointment of 15 senate members of the Kerala University which causing a rift between the state government and Khan.
CPI-M state secretary M.V. Govindan and CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran jointly informed about the march levelling serious accusation on the Governor.
M.V. Govindan accused that the Sangh Parivar forces have been trying to spoil the secular higher education in the state universities through the Governor’s actions.

Meanwhile, the CPI-M state claimed Arif Khan had called himself a RSS sympathiser.
Talking details about the march, the CPI leader said the agitation would be historic as well as a mass uprising against the Governor.

Amid the ongoing feud over the state universities, Arif Khan Sunday alleged, “Kerala is replacing Punjab as the capital of drugs as the state promotes the sale of liquor.”
“Here, we have decided that the lottery and alcohol are enough for our development. What a shameful situation for a state which has 100 per cent literacy,” he added.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Arif Khan have come face to face after sharing an initial bonhomie.
