New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Monday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the people of the state were wronged for past 18 years.
“I have seen several double, triple-engine governments, but people of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka gave befitting reply to them. What happened to you in the past 18 years is wrong. You have been used and exploited,” said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at a public rally in Jabalpur, while launching a campaign for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also made an unveiled attack at former Congress leader and now cabinet minister in BJP government, Jyotiraditya Scindia who left the grand-old party in 2020. In 2020, a total of 22 MLAs had tendered resignation to Congress leadership, following its fall in the state.
“I regret that many left Congress, changed ideology for power,” said Priyanka Gandhi.
The major crisis followed the establishment of BJP government in the state with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the CM.
“You are being exploited. The announcements, the promises made to you are not fulfilled. People’s mandate is crushed by the use of money and power. Last time you made our government. But the BJP used manipulation and money to fell the government and make its own. Now, if this (BJP) government had done something good for you, it would have been fine, but they did not do anything.”
List of BJP scams
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also got back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘insulting’ Gandhi family during Karnataka Assembly Polls 202. Gandhi said that the list of scam done by BJP is longer than the number of insults PM Modi has uttered for Congress.
“I got the figures checked thrice by my office. But it is true, only 21 jobs,” said the senior Congress leader. Gandhi further said that there were scams regarding scholarship scam, teachers’ recruitment scam, Vyapam scam, e-tendering scam and others in the past 18 years.
Gurantees By Congress
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made several guarantees during the campaign including Rs 1,500 cash assistance to women per month, domestic gas cylinder for Rs 500, 100 units free electricity and 200 units at half rate, revival of the old pension scheme and completion of loan waiver to farmers.
The senior leader who vigorously carried out the campaigning in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka assured people that the gurantees announced will be fulfilled 100 per cent.
“This is my promise. We made a promise in Karnataka and the five guarantees were approved during the first cabinet meeting,” she said.
