Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday arrested a school principal for sexually harassing several students within the age group of 12 to 15 in Ghaziabad.
The accused was identified as Dr Rajeev Pandey, said police.
According to the senior police official, the accused used to call the girls in his office on the pretext of work and then touches them inappropriately.
Seeking justice against the heinous act, the girls have also allegedly written a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath “in blood”, as per the NDTV.
The letter also stated that Pandey was affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and this could be the reason for the lack of action taken against him thus far.
According to the police, the girls initially hesitated to speak openly about the matter due to fear. However, some of them eventually confided in their parents.
Upon learning about the situation, several parents visited the school and engaged in a confrontation with the principal, leading to a verbal dispute between the two parties.
In response, the school lodged a counter complaint against the parents, accusing them of trespassing on school premises and assaulting the principal. Consequently, the police have registered cases against both sides, as reported by NDTV.
