Coimbatore summit to focus on natural farming

From Puttaparthi, the Prime Minister will travel to Coimbatore, where he will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit at around 1:30 pm. The summit aims to promote sustainable and chemical-free farming practices across southern states. More than 50,000 farmers, scientists, agricultural experts and natural-farming practitioners from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry are expected to participate.

The event will feature demonstrations, discussions and exhibitions showcasing natural farming techniques. The summit is being viewed as a major platform to encourage farmers to adopt eco-friendly methods that improve soil health and reduce input costs.

PM-KISAN installment to be released

One of the key highlights of the Coimbatore programme will be the release of the 21st installment under the PM-KISAN scheme. The Prime Minister will transfer Rs 18,000 crore directly into the accounts of around nine crore farmers across the country. The installment is expected to provide timely financial support ahead of the rabi season.

The day-long visit underscores the government’s focus on both cultural heritage and farmer welfare, with two major southern states preparing for high public attendance and tight security arrangements.
