Bajrang Dal member and Cow vigilante Monu Manesar, prime accused of inciting violence in Nuh in July was detained by Haryana Police on Tuesday. Furthermore, he was wanted in connection with the murder of two men from Rajasthan.
Manesar was named in the case of abducting two Muslim men from Rajasthan and murdering them. Nasir, aged 25, and Junaid, aged 35, both residents of a village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, were reportedly abducted by cow vigilantes on February 16. Tragically, their lifeless bodies were discovered inside a burnt car in Loharu, Bhiwani district, Haryana, the following day.
Sources within the Haryana Police have confirmed that Monu Manesar was detained on Tuesday under bailable sections of the Information Technology Act. It is anticipated that he will secure bail by evening, after which the Rajasthan Police will take custody of him in relation to the double-murder case.
Manesar serves as the leader of the Goraksha Dal, the cow vigilante division affiliated with Bajrang Dal in Haryana. He maintains an active presence in the Mewat region, which is known for its involvement in cattle smuggling.
As a prominent figure, Manesar holds the position of district convenor for Bajrang Dal in Gurugram. Notably, photographs have emerged in the past, depicting Manesar alongside law enforcement officials and government bureaucrats.
Furthermore, he operated a YouTube channel that showcased the activities of his cow vigilante group in apprehending smugglers. In recognition of his channel’s popularity, Manesar received a silver play button from YouTube in October 2022, surpassing 100,000 subscribers. However, the channel is no longer available on the platform.
