New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, who is on two-day visit to the North east, on Wednesday inaugurated Tripura Judicial Academy and laid the foundation stone of the National Law University in Tripura.
President Murmu arrived in Agartala on Wednesday morning on a two-day visit to Tripura as part of her maiden visit to Northeast.

Governor of Tripura, Satyadeo Narain Arya and Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha received President Droupadi Murmu on her arrival at Agartala, Rashtrapati Bhavan in a tweet said, adding that the President was accorded a guard of honour on her first visit to Tripura.

From the airport, Murmu inaugurated Tripura Judicial Academy and laid the foundation for National Law University at nearby Narsingarh in a brief programme.
Thereafter, she attended a special function organised by tea workers at Durgabari tea-estate near the airport before returning to Raj Bhawan for launch, news agency UNI reports.
According to President’s Secretariat’s Tuesday release, she will also virtually inaugurate an MLA Hostel at Capital Complex, Agartala and lay the foundation stones for – various projects of Government of Tripura related to roads, schools and hostels for students; Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Museum & Cultural Centre at Agartala and IIIT-Agartala – from Rabindra Sata Barshiki Bhawan, Agartala.
In the evening, the President will attend a civic reception to be hosted in her honour by the Government of Tripura at the Town Hall, Agartala.
The President is scheduled to flag off, from Agartala Railway Station, the special extension of Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati train upto Agartala and extension of Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala Jan Shatabdi Express upto Khongsang, Manipur.
Then she will offer puja to Tripureswari temple in Udaipur before leaving for Guwahati around 11.40 am on Thursday.
