New Delhi: The President of India appointed Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj as Minister in Delhi cabinet on the Advice of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Union Home Ministry said.

As per the information shared by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, The appointment of Atishi and Saurabh as cabinet ministers in the Delhi government would be in effect from the date they will be sworn in.

Former Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satendra Jain, Who are facing corruption charges and lodged in jail, resigned from their post earlier this month.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent Atishi and Saurabh’s names to the President for the portfolio vacated by Sisodia and Jain.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by CBI last month in connection with alleged corruption in New Liquor Excise Policy while Satendra Jain was arrested by ED last year in May in an alleged money laundering case. Currently, both of them are in Tihar Jail.
