The Union Cabinet approved on July 1, 2025, the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana, an employment-driven incentive scheme. The scheme aims to promote employment generation, improve employability of people and strengthen social security across various sectors, with a special focus on the manufacturing sector. It is a central sector scheme.
A fund of about Rs 1 lakh crore has been set aside under the scheme, which aims to generate over 3.5 crore new employment opportunities in the next two years. The benefit will be available on jobs created between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the scheme in his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort on 15 August 2025.
Today, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya informed that the portal of this scheme has been activated from 18th August 2025, so that interested parties can get information related to it and participate in the implementation process.
This scheme will not only help in strengthening the employment sector but will also strengthen the government’s commitment towards a developed and self-reliant India.
