New Delhi: In a shocking announcement on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared that he will resign in the coming two days. He further stated that he will remain away from the office until people’s verdict.

The unexpected resignation announcement has sparked widespread reactions from various political leaders. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has labelled the resignation move as a PR stunt of Kejriwal. He stated that the AAP Chief’s image as a leader among the people of Delhi is tainted by corruption. He further alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is perceived across the country as a corrupt party.

Bhandari alleged that Kejriwal wants to rebuild his reputation under his PR stunt. He criticised him for trying to adopt the Sonia Gandhi strategy, stating she positioned Manmohan Singh as a dummy Prime Minister and controlled the government from behind the scenes.

BJP Leader Manjinder Singh Hits Out At CM Kejriwal

BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also hit out at Kejriwal, calling his offer to resign as another political stunt. In his recent statement, he slammed the AAP leader, stating that the court has made it clear that he cannot continue wielding power as Chief Minister, since his reputation remains tarnished due to his involvement in the Delhi liquor scam.

While addressing a public gathering after his release from Tihar Jail, Kejriwal called for early elections in Delhi. He pledged not to sit in the CM’s chair until people gave their verdict to him.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
