Post Operation Sindoor, Civil Defence Gears Up With Mock Drill Along Pakistan Border

In the wake of Operation Sindoor—a series of Indian military strikes launched in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack- civil defence authorities have ramped up emergency preparedness along the Pakistan border with a large-scale mock drill scheduled for May 29.

Operation Sindoor, which was a revenge for the Pahalgam attack, has not ended yet, Said officials adding in a press statement, that a civil defence mock drill is also scheduled for the border states of Pakistan.

The border states are Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir. These are the same states where drones and artillery fire were launched by Pakistan. The majority of the attacks were prevented by the Indian air defence system.

Notably, on April 22, around 26 tourists lost their lives in a terrorist attack that shook the nation. Following weeks of gab, India conducted “Operation Sindoor” on the intervening night of May 6 and 7 to destroy terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. Recently, the mock drill was conducted across the country on May 7.

Border areas have witnessed simulated air strikes in the last five decades since the 1971 India-Pakistan war. During the mock drills officially will train people how to handle the situation during war, and sirens will be sounded to alert people. The mock drill will be conducted by police, fire departments, and other key departments of the state.
