Tripura Police seized over 2 kg of heroin valued at ₹25 crore and arrested two drug peddlers, an official said on Monday.
SP Chakraborty reported that the Officer-In-Charge of Damcherra Police Station seized 2.212 kg of heroin from a Hyundai Venue with registration number TR 01 BV 0595 in Damcherra. The heroin, valued at around 25 crore rupees, was packed in 177 plastic cases. The police arrested two individuals, Sahidul Rahaman and Jasim Uddin, both 35 years old and residents of Kulobari in the Sonamura sub-division.

What else did the police say about Tripura heroin hunt
Another police officer stated that smugglers had transported the drugs from Myanmar to Tripura through Mizoram and intended to deliver them to Bangladesh.
Arresting Rahaman and Uddin is a significant win in the battle against drug smuggling networks that operate across state and international borders.
