New Delhi: The Gujarat police conducted a raid at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s office in Ahmedabad on Sunday, party chief Arvind Kejriwal said, claiming that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ‘extremely insecure’ as the AAP party gaining popularity in poll-bound Gujarat.

AAP leaders claimed that a raid was carried out at the party’s Ahmedabad office soon after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived here.

AAP leader from Gujarat, Isudan Gadhvi, in a tweet, said: “Gujarat Police’s raid at the Aam Aadmi Party’s office as soon as Kejriwal arrived in Ahmedabad. Carried out searches for two hours and left. Nothing found. Said they will come again.”

Reacting to the development, Kejriwal, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, said: “The BJP has been badly shaken by the immense support it is getting from the people of Gujarat. A storm is blowing in Gujarat in favour of AAP. After Delhi, now started raiding in Gujarat too. Nothing was found in Delhi, nothing was found in Gujarat too.”

In line with this, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that BJP’s only goal in Gujarat elections is to stop Arvind Kejriwal.

“As the Gujarat elections are approaching, the fear of the BJP is increasing. BJP’s only goal in Gujarat elections is to stop Arvind Kejriwal ji and Aam Aadmi Party by any means.”

“I want to ask BJP why are you so afraid of Kejriwal ji?” he asked.

The AAP has been running an aggressive campaign in poll-bound Gujarat. The assembly polls are slated to be held later in the year.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
