PM Vishwakarma Scheme launched in September 2023 for artisans. Here is a look at the Centre’s flagship program, PM Vishwakarma Scheme which was launched by PM Narendra Modi last year is for the welfare of artisans present in the country.
People can register in for this scheme following the three steps verification process. Till now total of 25.8 million applications have been submitted and 2.37 million applicants have successfully registered by following the three step verification process.
Around a million registered people have received toolkit incentives of up to Rupees 15,000 through e-vouchers to purchase the modern tools suitable for their occupation.
The highest registration from Karnataka with 519,346 registrations. Following Karnataka there is Rajasthan with 201,395 registrations,Maharashtra with 200,278 registrations, Gujarat with 195,759 registrations and Madhya Pradesh with 176,936 number of registrations.
About PM Vishwakarma Scheme
PM Vishwakarma Scheme is program developed by the centre to provide end-to-end support to the craftspeople and artisans in scaling up of their services.The scheme was launched by PM Narendra Modi in September 2023.The scheme was made to provide the holistic support to the artisans and craftspeople.
The scheme provide benefits to the artisans by upgrading their skills, providing toolkit, credit support and by providing marketing support to them.
The minimum age of the beneficiary should be 18 on the date of registration. Person under government services are not eligible for this scheme.

- To upgrade the skills of artisans
- To provide them support with modern tolls.
- To provide them with the platform where they can promote their brand.
