Modi-Biden Phone Call: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden in which he reiterated the strong relations between India and the US. The regional and global topics taken up for discussion included the situations in Ukraine and Bangladesh.

“Had a phone call with @POTUS @JoeBiden today. We discussed several regional and global issues, including Ukraine. I emphasized India’s strong support for achieving peace and stability soon,” PM Modi posted on X.
The discussion on Bangladesh was an appeal for the speedy return of normalcy with protection for minorities, particularly Hindus: “We discussed Bangladesh. We have called for speedy restoration of normalcy and protection and security for minorities, especially Hindus.” – PM Modi said.
Modi And Biden Strengthen India-US Ties
A statement by the PMO said, “PM Modi conveyed his appreciation to President Biden of the United States for his unwavering commitment towards the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership founded on shared values of democracy, rule of law and resilient ties between our peoples.
The leaders discussed the important progress in their relationship and agreed that the India-US partnership benefits not just their countries, but the entire world, according to the PMO. They also agreed to increase cooperation in international forums including the Quad.
PM Modi briefed US President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine and conveyed that India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy while calling for an early return of peace in the region.
Both leaders also shared mutual concern on the developments in Bangladesh. “Called for restoration of law and order, ensuring safety and security of minorities particularly Hindus in Bangladesh,” said the PMO.
