PM Modi Invokes Lord Ram As Maharashtra, Jharkhand Assembly Elections Loom-Sign Of Fear Of Defeat?

Are Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP scared of defeat in elections for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assemblies? This question is being asked as PM Modi invoked Ram before the polls.

Are Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP scared of defeat in elections for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assemblies? This question is being asked as PM Modi invoked Ram before the polls. Explaining why Diwali would be special this year, he said, “After 500 years, Lord Ram is seated in his grand temple in Ayodhya, and this will be the first Diwali celebrated with him in his magnificent temple. We are all fortunate to witness such a special and grand Diwali.”

PM Modi Invokes Ram Before Polls

The BJP is trying to take credit for constructing the Ram Temple and use it politically. This is evident from the fact that the PM invoked Ram before the polls to take political mileage at a time when Maharashtra and Jharkhand will go to polls.

‘Ram Returns After 500 Years’

Besides, in what may be termed as yet another symbol of Hindu gratification by a secular state, thousands of lamps will be lit in the Ayodhya temple. In what may be termed as an attempt to appeal to Hindus, PM Modi said it would be Diwali “when our Ram returns home” and this time the wait is over not after 14 years but after 500 years.

Puja Before Polls

Earlier on May 5, just before the Lok Sabha Election, PM Modi went to Ayodhya and performed puja at the Ram Temple. It was his first visit to Ram Mandir after the ‘pran-pratishtha’ or the consecration ceremony.

He also held a two-kilometer-long roadshow, starting from Sugriva Fort and continuing till Lata Chowk. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied him in the roadshow. Ayodhya went to the polls on May 20 and PM Modi visited the temple before that. The BJP lost the Ayodhya Lok Sabha seat.

Taking Political Mileage

In what may be termed as an attempt to take political mileage, while addressing an election rally on  PM Modi on May 17 in Barabanki, PM Modi said that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party would run a bulldozer over the Ram temple in Ayodhya if elected to power.

He added that the Opposition should take tuitions from UP CM Yogi Adityanath where to run bulldozers.

Modi: Congress Disrespected Ram Lalla

He also claimed that the Congress and the SP disrespected Ram Lalla for decades and when after 500 years, the dream of a grand Ram Temple was fulfilled in Ayodhya, they rejected the invitation for the consecration ceremony. The BJP leader went on to say that the Congress was preparing to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision on the Ram Temple.

In what may be termed an attempt to target Muslims, PM Modi said that if elected the Congress would take away the property and gift it to those who do vote jihad for them. Earlier, a leader had called for ‘vote jihad’ in favour of INDIA bloc candidate Naval Kishore Shakya who contested from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha seat.

As the elections are approaching, the PM has once again invoked Ram.
