PM Modi’s Bihar, West Bengal Visit Highlights: Prime Minister Modi Launches Developmental Projects In Gaya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bihar and West Bengal on August 22, 2025, to launch and inaugurate development projects collectively worth around Rs 18,200 crore, focusing on connectivity, infrastructure, health, and urban development ahead of local elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar and West Bengal today, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth around Rs 18,200 crore.

In Bihar, at around 11 am, Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore in Gaya. During this, he will flag off two trains and address the gathering. He will then inaugurate the Auntha-Simaria bridge over the Ganga river. This new 8.15 km long bridge is located on NH-31, which includes a 1.86 km long six-lane bridge costing over Rs 1,870 crore. The bridge connects Mokama in Patna to Begusarai and will improve connectivity by reducing the need for heavy vehicles to take a detour of more than 100 km due to the old dilapidated two-lane rail-road bridge “Rajendra Setu”.

In West Bengal, at around 4:15 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate new Metro train sections in Kolkata and undertake a Metro ride from JC Road Metro Station to Jai Hind Airport. He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth over Rs 5,200 crore and address a public meeting.

These new infrastructure facilities will help reduce traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in both states, reflecting the Prime Minister’s continued dedication to infrastructure development.
