PM Modi, Uttarakhand CM, Congress President Kharge, others extend wishes on Uttarakhand foundation day

New Delhi: Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India on November 9, 2000. After a prolonged agitation, the hill state was carved out of Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2000, by the BJP government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Uttarakhand on its statehood day on Wednesday, saying that people from the hill state are making tremendous contributions to nation-building across many sectors.

He also hoped that Uttarakhand would continue to grow in the coming years.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Statehood Day greetings to the people of Uttarakhand. This is a state closely associated with nature and spirituality. People from this state are making phenomenal contributions, across many sectors, to nation-building. May Uttarakhand keeps progressing in the coming years.”

On the occasion of the state’s foundation day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the state’s martyrs at the martyrs memorial in the court.

“It has been 22 years since the state of Uttarakhand was founded, and I pay my respects to the martyrs and revolutionaries of the state, and we are determined to build Uttarakhand in accordance with their visions,” Dhami said.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge extended greetings on the state foundation day of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, saying that everyone here contributes to the country’s development.

Congress President tweeted in Hindi, “Happy Foundation Day to the state that is rich in natural resources and beauty. I wish that every person in the state remains happy and contributes to the development of India.”
