G7 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hiroshima on Friday at the invitation of Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida to participate in the G7 Summit. On Saturday, PM Modi unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi there.
He offered flowers to Gandhi. After this talking to reporters PM Modi said that it is a great moment for me that the Bodhi tree which I gifted to the Japanese PM has been planted here in Hiroshima so that people can understand the importance of peace when they come here .

Japan is presiding over the G-7 countries in 2023 this year. The G7 group includes Japan, Italy, Canada, France, the US, the UK and Germany. Japan has invited the leaders of Australia, Brazil, Comoros, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam under its G7 Presidency.
