New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the new integrated terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on July 18.

The formation worth Rs 710 crore is scattered across 40,800 sqm. Moreover, an airport ramp/flight line has been constructed for two Boing-767-400 and two airbus-321 aircraft with a total cost of around Rs 80 crores, which is equipped in parking about ten jets at once
Port Blair airport’s additional unit has been installed with some top sustainability features such as Double Insulated roofing system; constructed to minimise the rising heat, a skylight to provide the AirStation with enough natural sunlight during day time, rainwater catchment and 500 KW capacity solar power plant.
The unit is equipped with an on-site sewage treatment plant that reuses 100 per cent of treated wastewater used for landscaping. Veer Savarkar International Airport’s newly integrated terminal will enhance the tourism sector in India with better connectivity to the UT as compared to prior.
