Tripura election rallies: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election rallies in Tripura on Saturday. Chief Minister Manik Saha will welcome PM Modi. Party’s state incharge Mahesh Sharma, and other leaders will also be present. According to the sources, Modi will address the first rally at Ambassa in Dhalai district around 12 noon and the second at Gomati, which is expected to begin at 3 pm.
PM Modi will also visit poll-bound Tripura on February 13, according to a top source in the Tripura BJP.
The BJP has declared candidates for 55 assembly seats, leaving the remaining five for its coalition partner, the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). The Left-Congress coalition has also named candidates for all 60 seats.
Tripura’s 60 seats will go to polls on February 16, while Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote on February 27. The counting of votes for all the three states will be held simultaneously on March 2. Addressing the public meeting, Nadda said, “When BJP brings ‘Sankalp Patra’, it is a vision document, it is not just a piece of paper, it is BJP’s commitment towards the people.” Nadda said, “Tripura was once known for blockade and militancy. The state is now known for peace, prosperity and development.”
Nadda slams Congress-Left alliance
JP Nadda said that 13 lakh Ayushman Bharat health cards have been given so far in Tripura, in which Rs 107 crore has been given. Nadda launched a scathing attack on the Congress-Left alliance and said the alliance was opportunistic in nature and had no ideology.
BJP president JP Nadda, who addressed a Vijay Sankalp rally in Gomti district, said Tripura had faced violence and unrest five years ago, but under the BJP rule, the state is promoting development, connectivity and infrastructure.
