The new film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, is a big hit at the box office! Recently, Prime Minister Modi praised the movie and talked about how it’s making a strong impact on both Marathi and Hindi cinema.
He mentioned how Maharashtra and Mumbai have played a big role in making Indian cinema successful, saying, “It is Maharashtra and Mumbai that have helped both Marathi and Hindi films reach great heights. And right now, Chhaava is very popular.”
He also recognized the importance of the film’s history, saying, “We got to know about Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery in this way through Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel.”

Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj. It also features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Ashutosh Rana as Hambirrao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai.
