Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India no longer remains silent after terrorist attacks and retaliates with force through surgical strikes and air strikes.
While speaking at the NDTV World Summit, the prime minister said, “Today, from chips to ships, India is a self-reliant India, brimming with self-confidence. India no longer remains silent after terrorist attacks. Through surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor, India retaliates with force.”
He further said, “India’s growth is shaping global opportunities, and I say this with great responsibility… Just a few days ago, the UK PM, my dear friend Keir Starmer, visited India with his largest business delegation. This shows that the world is looking with great hope at the vast opportunities India holds for them… The entire world views India as a reliable, responsible, and resilient partner… There is a wave of investment in India. These investments are helping India become the nerve centre of global supply chains.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Sri Lankan counterpart Harini Amarasuriya and discussed education, women’s empowerment, innovation, development cooperation, and the welfare of fishermen.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Glad to welcome Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Harini Amarasuriya. Our discussions covered a broad range of areas, including education, women’s empowerment, innovation, development cooperation and welfare of our fishermen. As close neighbours, our cooperation holds immense importance for the prosperity of our two peoples as well as the shared region.”
