New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of Veteran telugu cinematic personality, UV Krishnam Raju Garu. Also known as Krishnam Raju died on Sunday morning at the age of 83.
“Saddened by the passing away of Shri UV Krishnam Raju Garu,” PM Modi tweeted.
The coming generations will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the forefront of community service and made a mark as a political leader. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti, he added.

Also known as Rebel Star, Raju had a successful career in both politics and the film industry. The actor has been battling several health conditions and breathed his last in Hyderabad.
Who was Krishnam Raju?
Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju was born in Mogalthur, Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district in 1940. He spent some time working as a journalist after finishing his education. Later, in 1966, he made his lead acting debut in the movie “Chilaka Gorinka.” He is also well known for his negative roles.
During the administration of the late and former Prime Minister Vajpayee, he also entered politics and held the position of Union Minister.
