PM Awas Yojna comes in two part, one is PM Awas Yojna Rural and other one is PM Awas Yojna Urban. PM Awas Yojna-Rural was launched on April 1, 2016, whereas PM Awas Yojna-urban got launched on June 25, 2015.
Things PM-Awas Yojna-Rural Offers In Madhya Pradesh
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojna, the scheme applies into rural areas. The major objective of this scheme is to give financial support for housing to the poor and homeless people in the country. The same scheme applies in Madhya Pradesh. This helps the people in getting a permanent home for themselves.
The scheme allots Rs 1lakh 20 thousand to people in plain areas and Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand to the people in hilly areas. The amount is delivered in two instalments.
Eligibility Criteria For PM-Awas Yojna-Rural
Applicants who are applying for this scheme should follow the following criteria to be fit for this schcme:
- People who are going for this scheme should not have home or permanent house.
- Families with zero-two rooms with ‘Kutcha Roof’.
- Families which don’t have an literate person above 25-years of age.
- Families having disabled members.
- Families who earn their living by labour.
- Families which don’t have adult between 16-59 years age group.
Features Of The Scheme
Apart from the facilities like giving permanent home, this scheme gives assistance up to Rs 12 thousand. The amount is allotted for the development of toilets. This is done with the help of MNREGA and other schemes under the Swachh Bharat Mission for Gramin area.
The identification of beneficiaries under the scheme are done using the Socio-Economic and Caste Census. These are verified by the Gram Sabhas.
