The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dry weather to prevail across Himachal Pradesh from 30 December to January 1, 2025.

Forecast For Shimla
Shimla will have mainly clear sky for next three days, with the minimum temperatures expected to touch 4 degrees Celsius on 1st January. The maximum temperature will remain 16 and 17 degrees Celsius on 30 and 31st December; while it will remain 17 degrees on 1st January.
Furthermore, light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places on 1st, 2nd and 3rd January, 2025 over high and adjoining mid hills of the state.
Light rain/snow will occur over higher riches of Chamba, Kullu and Lahaul –Spiti districts today (30 December).
In addition, to light rain and snow, cold wave and ground frost conditions will also prevail at few places during morning, evening and night hours of January 2.
Met Forecast
According to Met Centre, Shimla, “Maximum Temperatures are very likely to be in the range of 10-16°C over most parts of the high hills except some parts of Lahaul-Spiti & Chamba districts where it likely to be in the range of 08-14°C; in the range of 12-18°C over most parts of mid hills and adjoining lower hills and in the range of 14-20°C over remaining parts of lower hills/plains during 30 December to 2 January.”
Forecast For Snow/ Rain
Light rain/snowfall likely at isolated places on 2nd, 3rd and 4th January 2025 over high and adjoining mid hills of the state. Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining days of the week.
Forecast For Fog
Bhakra dam (Bilaspur) and some parts of Balh valley (Mandi) will witness dense fog during late night hours of 30th and early morning, morning and late night hours of 31st December and 1st January 2025.
