As the United Kisan Morcha gears up for a march to Delhi today, Noida braces for potential traffic disruptions. The movement, comprising farmers from neighbouring states such as Bulandshahr, Meerut, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Rohtak, Jind, and the NCR, is expected to cause congestion along key routes including the Noida Border and the Noida Greater Noida Expressway.
Noida Police Advisory Urges Precaution
In response to the anticipated traffic surge, Noida Police has issued an advisory urging residents to plan their journeys accordingly. Commuters are advised to check for traffic updates on social media platforms before setting out and to leave home early, particularly those heading to the railway station or the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). This proactive measure aims to mitigate potential inconvenience caused by the increased vehicular movement.
Route Modifications Implemented:
To streamline traffic flow and minimize congestion hotspots, Noida Police has implemented several route modifications:
Closures: Sections from Golchakkar Chowk Sector-15 to Sector-06 Chowki Chowk and from Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk to Harola Chowk will be closed.
Diversions: Traffic diversions will be in place at Golchakkar Chowk Sector-15, Rajnigandha Chowk, Sector-06 Chowki Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk, and Sector-8/10/11/12 Chowk, among others.
Alternate Routes: Alternate routes have been designated for specific traffic flows to facilitate smoother movement.
Expressway Rerouting: Traffic heading towards Delhi via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be redirected through the Chilla red light, while traffic from the Expressway towards Delhi via the Delhi Noida Direct (DND) Flyway will be rerouted accordingly.
