The registration of pilgrims and operation of the Chardham Yatra, which was stopped from 1st to 5th September due to inclement weather and continuous rainfall, have now resumed. Earlier, the administration halted the Yatra, keeping in mind the safety of devotees. Now due to favorable weather, devotees will be able to travel safely.

As per the release, “According to the letter number 783/SEOC/73/IMD (2015) dated 01 September, 2025 of the Meteorological Department, Hydronet, Division, New Delhi, by the SEOC. USDMA. Government of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, in view of the waterlogging situation in some places of Districts-Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri, and Uttarkashi of the state of Uttarakhand, in the next 24 hours due to heavy rains, this office order number 7630 / Ch.Dha. Ya.Y./2025 dated: 01 September 2025 was postponed from 01 September 2025 to 05 September 2025 for the safety of the passengers. Therefore, the registration and travel of Chardham pilgrims is being conducted from 06 September 2025. Along with this, the District Magistrates of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli will be able to take decisions at their own level regarding stopping the movement and travel of pilgrims as per their discretion in view of the local conditions and weather.
