On Monday, a pickup vehicle overturned in Chhattisgarh’s Kawardha area, claiming the lives of at least 15 people. A group of 25-30 individuals from the Baiga tribal community were returning in the pickup truck after gathering traditional tendu leaves when the vehicle plunged into a 20 feet deep ditch near the Bahpani area.

Rescuers hurried the injured to the nearby district hospital for further medical attention. All individuals are reported to be residents of Kui.

Deputy CM Expressed His Grief On The Kawardha Incident

Following the accident, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma conveyed condolences to the injured individuals via a Twitter post. He expressed sympathy for the families who lost their loved ones in the incident and extended wishes for the speedy recovery of all injured persons. Additionally, he mentioned that the local administration, under the state government’s supervision, is actively assisting the victims and their families.
