PIB Fact Check: The Fact-Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has debunked Pakistan’s recent blatant lie presented during its military briefing on Sunday. In its media briefing, the DG ISPR of Pakistan, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, used a small part of a full video clip of Aaj Tak News Channel to claim that an Indian airfield had been destroyed. Presenting the clip as evidence, he was heard saying, “Now I will show you another clip which will tell you the story.”
After this, he points toward the clip, in which the anchor is heard saying: “Ghabrahatein ek toh logo m nazar aa rahi h kyuki tamam airways dhwast hote hue nazar aa rahe hai, aag ke gole m badalte nazar aa rahe hai. Sabse zyada charcha hai ki jab aap apne airways ko nahi bacha sakte toh Janta ko kya bachayenge.” (There’s visible anxiety among the people because all the airbases appear to be getting destroyed, turning into balls of fire. The biggest question being is if you can’t protect your own airbases, how will you protect the people?)
Doctored Footage
The video shown by Pakistan DG ISPR has been termed as doctored footage produced in an attempt to mislead its own people. Debunking the lies of Pakistan, PIB shared the real footage, in which the anchor was talking about the destruction of a Pakistani airfield by Indian forces.
PIB wrote on X, “In its media briefing, the DG ISPR of Pakistan used a small part of a full video clip of Aaj Tak News Channel to claim Indian airfield has been destroyed. This is an attempt by #Pakistan to mislead its own people by producing doctored footage as evidence. The actual story in the full video shows the news channel was talking about the destruction of a Pakistani airfield by Indian forces.

Well, this is not the first time that the PIB has debunked fake videos circulated by several pro-Pakistan social media accounts after the Operation Sindoor. The videos, which claimed that the Indian posts and jets have been destroyed by the Pakistani army, were found to be an old clip. In a series of posts on X, PIB debunked the false claims and urged the public not to fall for such misinformation. From ‘Fake Jet Crashes To False Claims of S-400 Destruction’, PIB busted several fake propaganda.
Earlier, a video aired by ‘AIK News’ on live TV claimed that Pakistan had destroyed the Udhampur Air Base. However, the claims are fake and unfounded. PIB busted the claim on its official X handle, stating, “The video shows a fire incident at a chemical factory in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. It’s unrelated to the current India–Pakistan situation. Stay alert. Don’t fall for fake news!”
