Several social media handles are running a coordinated disinformation campaign to spread fear among the public. However, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has busted this campaign through a fact-check blitz.
PIB’s fact-check unit took charge and successfully came out with the truth, debunking viral fake videos and claims. Many videos and claims were fact-checked by the PIB from 10:00 PM, May 11, until now. Here are the details:
Amidst rumours circulating about an artillery exchange along the Line of Control (LOC), the PIB has issued a clear statement refuting these claims. PIB’s fact-check unit said, “These claims are #FALSE. Rumours are being spread to create panic!”

- The Fact-Check Unit of the PIB has debunked Pakistan’s recent blatant lie presented during its military briefing on Sunday. In its media briefing, the DG ISPR of Pakistan, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, used a small part of a full video clip of Aaj Tak News Channel to claim that an Indian airfield had been destroyed. PIB stated, “This is an attempt by #Pakistan to mislead its own people by producing doctored footage as evidence. The actual story in the full video shows the news channel was talking about the destruction of a Pakistani airfield by Indian forces.”
