New Delhi: Maharashtra ATS chief Vineet Agarwal Thursday said the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) had plans to make an Islamic country by 2047. He said the Islamic group manipulated people to indulge in hate crimes.

Post ban on PFI, the ATS is still going through data of Islamic group to find out more about its intentions and motives.

“We are using tools to recover their data, they had plan to make a Islamic country by 2047 by motivating people to commit hate crimes. Target killing was their modus operandi by identifying the target. We’ll further freeze their accounts,” said the Maharashtra ATS chief.

He added, “They used to portray themselves as persons associated with social development and physical education and gather people; gave lectures to incite them. Also told participants to keep items for self-defence, bricks, sharp objects on their terraces.”

The Indian government on Wednesday (September 28) had declared PFI unconstitutional after nation-wide raids on the Islamic group claiming that it has links with terror groups.
