On Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) Supremo Pawan Kalyan announced the creation of a new unit within the party called the Narasimha Varahi Brigade. This initiative is focused on the protection and preservation of Sanatana Dharma across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. As part of the NDA alliance in the state, Kalyan aims to address concerns surrounding Hindu religious values and practices.
New Wing for Sanatana Dharma Protection
Through an official press release, Pawan Kalyan introduced the Narasimha Varahi Brigade, emphasizing that it is a dedicated wing of the Jana Sena Party meant to safeguard Sanatana Dharma. He stated, “I am starting a separate branch in Janasena to protect Sanatan Dharma and will name it ‘Narasimha Varahi Ganam’.” Kalyan expressed that this wing will address those who publicly disrespect or criticize Sanatana Dharma, especially on social media.
Advocating for Religious Respect and Hindu Values
While reaffirming respect for all religions, Pawan Kalyan highlighted his commitment to Hindu practices and beliefs. He asserted that Sanatana Dharma serves as a guiding principle not only for India but also has broader implications for the world, thus underscoring the need for protection of its values and traditions.
Call for a National Sanatana Dharma Protection Board
Pawan Kalyan’s announcement follows his recent appeal for the establishment of a Sanatana Dharma Rakshan Board at the national level. This proposal arose after the “laddoo controversy” at the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, where issues regarding temple practices and property concerns were discussed. Speaking on the matter, he emphasized the importance of addressing such controversies to preserve the sanctity of Hindu temples and their practices across India. “Our government is committed to taking strict action, but this matter highlights the insult of temples, its land issues, and other religious practices,” he remarked, advocating for a board that could ensure protection of religious sites and values nationwide.
A Broader Vision for the Narasimha Varahi Brigade
With the establishment of the Narasimha Varahi Brigade, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party aims to promote respect for Sanatana Dharma and Hindu values, particularly in the Telugu-speaking regions. This new wing underscores Kalyan’s commitment to addressing religious issues at both the local and national levels, signaling a strong stance in support of traditional practices and temple security.
