Ministry Assures Contingency Plans
The External Affairs Ministry emphasized that the maintenance activity is a routine procedure. A ministry source assured that rescheduling appointments will not pose a challenge as contingency plans are in place to minimize public inconvenience. The planned maintenance ensures that services, like the PSK, continue to operate smoothly after the upgrades.
Passport Seva Portal’s Key Services
The PSK is used for booking appointments at passport centers across India for new applications or renewals. After booking, applicants must visit the designated centers for document verification, followed by police verification. The passport is then dispatched to the applicant’s address. The portal offers both regular and Tatkaal services, with passports delivered within 30-45 working days or within days, respectively, for urgent applications.
