Several opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha have submitted notices for a Calling Attention Motion regarding funds owed to states by the Centre and increasing pollution levels. Sources said MPs had earlier highlighted in the Business Advisory Committee meeting that no Calling Attention Motions had been addressed so far in the Winter Session.
The Lok Sabha will take up items under Rule 377 and consider two important bills. Dr. Jitendra Singh will introduce the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025. The legislation aims to promote the use of nuclear energy across power, healthcare, agriculture, industry, research, and environmental sectors, while establishing a strong regulatory framework to ensure its safe utilization.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will introduce the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha today during the ongoing Winter Session. The bill aims to provide a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment every financial year to rural households whose adult members volunteer for unskilled manual work, in line with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. The minister will also move for the passage of the bill.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will begin proceedings at 11 AM on Wednesday.
