Parliament Winter Session 2025 LIVE: The Parliament is gearing up for a busy and closely watched session on Wednesday as the Winter Session enters a crucial phase. The sitting will start at 11 am with Question Hour, followed by several key items listed in the revised List of Business. The Central government plans to move forward with the passage of the SHANTI Bill on the nuclear sector and the VB–G RAM G Bill on rural employment guarantee in the Lok Sabha.
Key Bills on the Agenda
The focus will be on legislative business, with two major bills up for consideration and passage. The SHANTI Bill aims to promote the safe and regulated use of nuclear energy, while the VB–G RAM G Bill proposes a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment for rural households under the Viksit Bharat vision.
Earlier, CAT results were usually announced in January of the following year. However, candidates can now expect the scorecards to be released this week. IIM Kozhikode has still not officially confirmed the CAT 2025 result date.
Several opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha have submitted notices for a Calling Attention Motion regarding funds owed to states by the Centre and increasing pollution levels. Sources said MPs had earlier highlighted in the Business Advisory Committee meeting that no Calling Attention Motions had been addressed so far in the Winter Session.
The Lok Sabha will take up items under Rule 377 and consider two important bills. Dr. Jitendra Singh will introduce the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025. The legislation aims to promote the use of nuclear energy across power, healthcare, agriculture, industry, research, and environmental sectors, while establishing a strong regulatory framework to ensure its safe utilization.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will introduce the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha today during the ongoing Winter Session. The bill aims to provide a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment every financial year to rural households whose adult members volunteer for unskilled manual work, in line with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. The minister will also move for the passage of the bill.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will begin proceedings at 11 AM on Wednesday.
