New Delhi: Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has called a crucial meeting of party’s Parliamentary strategy group on July 16 to discuss the number of issues that they will raise in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The meeting will be held at Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s residence to chalk out their strategy, merely a couple of days before the Monsoon Session will start.
As informed by Union minister Pralhad Joshi on July 1, the session of Parliament will start from July 20 that will conclude on August 11.
The Parliament session of this season is going to be full of turbulence considering the expulsion of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha as MP, many Opposition parties coming up together to form alliance against Narendra Modi-led central government and the pot-boiling issue of Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
It is worth noting that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cannot attend the proceedings in the Parliament as his membership stands cancelled following his conviction in the ‘Modi Surname Defamation Case.’
The Gujarat Sessions court found him guilty in the case in March. However, in the latest, the Congress leader received a major blow after he was denied a stay order on his conviction.
Had he recieved the stay order, Gandhi could have become a part of the proceedings.
