Lok Sabha Adjourns For The Day
The monsoon session of Parliament is going to end on August 21, but the proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are being repeatedly disrupted due to the continuous opposition of the opposition regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) caste survey going on in Bihar.

The central government is going to take an important initiative towards strengthening political accountability. A new bill will be introduced in Parliament on Wednesday, which makes it mandatory that if the Prime Minister, Union Minister, Chief Minister or Minister of Union Territories is arrested or detained in a serious criminal case, then he will have to resign from his post.

According to this proposed bill, if a public representative remains in custody for 30 consecutive days, then on the 31st day he will have to resign from his post, otherwise he will be automatically removed from his post. Till now, the Constitution had a provision for removal from the post only on conviction.
During the session held on August 19, opposition parties registered strong protest not only on the SIR survey but also on many issues related to the Election Commission.

Joint Committee To Have 21 Rajya Sabha Members And 10 From Lok Sabha

The Committee is expected to submit its report by the last day of the first week of the next session.
