The authorities have canceled the class 11th examinations under the board following the paper leak reports. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the authorities will soon decide on the fresh dates to conduct the examinations.
Ranoj Pegu wrote on X, “Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has suspended the affiliation of 15 private schools across 10 districts for breaking the seal of Class 11 Mathematics question papers before the scheduled time, leading to a leak. State Govt will take action against 3 provincialised school for violating the rules in similar manner. FIRs are being lodged, and these schools are barred from admitting Class XI students for 2025–26.”
“Due to reports of question paper leak and breach of protocol, the remaining subjects of HS First Year Examination 2025 (scheduled from 24–29 March) stand cancelled. Further action will be decided in the Board meeting on 24 March,” he said in another post.
The news agency PTI said the minister talked about stern action against a few schools that leaked the papers and it went viral on social media.
On March 21, the Higher Secondary First Year Mathematics exam was scheduled but it was cancelled due to a paper leak. The authorities have filed a police complaint.
The students’ organisations SFI, NSUI, and AASU demanded a probe into the alleged paper leak.
