‘Pakistan Will Not Get A Single Drop Of Water That Belongs To India’, Says PM Modi In Bikaner’s Rally

PM Modi said India will not give its rightful share of water to Pakistan, suggesting the suspension of the treaty will still be intact.

PM Narendra Modi made a big statement in Rajasthan on Thursday, warning Pakistan over the Indus Waters Treaty. While addressing the people at a rally in Bikaner, PM Modi said India will not give its rightful share of water to Pakistan, suggesting the suspension of the treaty will still be intact.

He said if Pakistan continues to support terrorism and export terrorists, one day they will have to wrestle and beg for every single penny. He also warned Pakistan that they would bear the cost of attacking and killing Indians.

Pakistan will not get a single drop of water that belongs to India. Playing with the blood of Indians will cost Pakistan dearly. This is India’s resolve, and no one in the world can deter us from this commitment,” he stated.

Indus Water Treaty

In 1960, the IWT was signed between the two countries under goodwill and friendship. The World Bank mediated the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, which split the six-river system between the two countries.

The Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers in the east were still under Indian sovereignty, while the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab rivers in the west were under Pakistani authority. Pakistan, however, has broken that goodwill and friendship by promoting terrorism in the last 3 decades, which led India to take action.

India suspended the Indus Water Treaty on the 23rd of May, 2025, after Pakistan’s Heartless Terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people.

Questions over the treaty were also raised after India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire understanding on May 10 following intense cross-border fighting after Operation Sindoor.

However, External Affairs Minister S Jayshankar made it very clear that the only talks that will happen with Pakistan are going to be on the issue of terrorism and nothing else.

Operation Sindoor

At Bikaner, PM Modi said that with Operation Sindoor, the nation avenged the April 22 Pahalgam attack by destroying nine major terrorist hideouts in 22 minutes.

“Every citizen took a collective vow — ‘aatankwadiyon ko mitti mein mila denge’ to turn terrorists to dust. And by the courage and determination of our forces, we fulfilled that promise,” the PM added.
