Pakistan responded a day after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 3-4 gunmen killed at least 26 people on Tuesday afternoon. The shooting took place in a popular tourist spot, crowded with visitors taking photos in the scenic area. In response to media questions, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said it is worried about the deaths of the tourists.

“We are concerned at the loss of tourists’ lives in an attack in Anantnag district. We extend our condolences to the near ones of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the spokesperson said.
At least 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed by terrorists on Tuesday in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This was one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the region in recent years.
Tribute to Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday honoured the victim of the terror attack by lying wreaths on their coffins at the Police Control Room in Srinagar. He also assured the survivors that those responsible for the brutal attack would be punished.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also paid their respects to the victims.
Amit Shah Meets Victims’ Families and Survivors
Home Minister Amit Shah later met with the families of those who were killed and with survivors of the terror attack. He promised them that the security forces would do everything possible to catch and punish those responsible.
Amit Shah Briefed on Situation, Holds Security Meeting
Shah arrived in Srinagar just hours after the attack on Wednesday night. He was given a detailed report on the situation by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat. He also led a security review meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
