Pahalgam Terror Attack: Assam Police Arrests AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam For Defending Terrorists 

SP Swapnaneel Deka said, "Today, we saw a video circulating on social media in which MLA Aminul Islam made a very wrong statement on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam."

The Assam Police arrested AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam on April 24 for making anti-India remarks and defending terrorists over the Pahalgam terror attack.  The AIUDF MLA allegedly linked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the Pahalgam and Pulwama terror attacks.

A video of his statement went viral on social media. The police took cognisance of the video and arrested him from his residence in Dhing. 

On the arrest of AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam for his remarks on the terror attack in Pahalgam, SP Swapnaneel Deka said, “Today, we saw a video circulating on social media in which MLA Aminul Islam made a very wrong statement on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He was defending the terrorists… So we have taken cognisance of this video and registered a case, arrested him, and he will be produced in court on April 25.”

Delhi Police detains man making false claim

The Delhi Police said it has detained a man who claimed to have prior information about the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which turned out to be “completely baseless” following verification by the security agencies.

Have prior information about the attack, man claimed

According to the police, the man identified as Subodh Tyagi made a phone call from Delhi’s Shakarpur area late on Wednesday night, claiming to have prior information about the attack. Tyagi, a driver by profession, alerted the police, following which the Delhi Police took immediate action and initiated an investigation in collaboration with multiple security agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
