For the swearing-in ceremony of MPs for the 18th Lok Sabha, BJP MP Chhatrapal Gangwar from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, caused a stir in Parliament by shouting “Jai Hindustan” after taking the oath. This led to an uproar in the House, with opposition parties criticizing the statement as unconstitutional and against the principles of the Constitution.

Not only this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, K.C. Venugopal, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also opposed it.
Earlier, after taking his oath, Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg shouted ‘Jai’ to the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

In Hyderabad, after taking his oath in Lok Sabha, MP Asaduddin Owaisi said ‘Jai Palestine’, sparking controversy. BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy commented that while living in India, they do not say ‘Jai Bharat Mata’ but say ‘Jai Palestine’. He criticized them for engaging in anti-constitutional activities under the guise of the Constitution.
These Leaders Also Took The Oath
Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, took oath as a member of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. He was elected as a lower house member from Kannauj. During the oath-taking ceremony, he held the Constitution in his hand.
Apart from Akhilesh Yadav, his wife and SP MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav, also took the oath.
Alongside them, Mahendra Malik from Muzaffarnagar, Iqra Chaudhary from Kairana, Akshay Yadav from Firozabad, Aditya Yadav from Badaun, and several other SP MPs took the oath.
Also elected from Nagina, Uttar Pradesh, Ajad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) leader Chandrashekhar also took oath as a member of the Lok Sabha.
