India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, carrying out targeted strikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7. The operation was a joint mission involving the Indian Air Force and the Army to eliminate the identified threats decisively. This action was taken in retaliation for the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.
The Army has used loitering munitions and Kamikaze drones to conduct distant air strikes, complemented by advanced extended-range artillery shells capable of hitting precise locations from far distances, with reasonable intelligence inputs. According to the government, at least 100 terrorists were killed during this operation, as reported by the Times of India.
