Operation Sindoor Live Updates: Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated after Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing and attacked Military stations in India. Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani drones and missiles along the International border in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and Wednesday. All these threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Ministry of Defence stated that there were no casualties and material losses and reiterated that India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Forces on Saturday (May 10, 2025) said that the Pakistani army initiated unprovoked firing on BSF posts located in Jammu city. However, the forces foiled the attack, “responding in a commensurate manner, causing widespread damage to the posts and assets of the Pakistan Rangers along the International Boundary.”
These developments come after India launched “Operation Sindoor” on May 7. During the operation, the Indian Armed Forces carried out missile strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation involved precision strikes on nine identified sites linked to terrorist outfits, specifically targeting camps associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. Notable locations affected include Masjid Sobhanullah in Ahmed Pur East Bahawalpur, Kotli in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and Muzaffarabad.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had highlighted Pakistan’s role in removing references to the terrorist group The Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terrorist attack, from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) press statement issued on April 25.
During a key briefing jointly held today with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Defence (MOD), FS Viram Misri, Col Sofia Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh gave a picture of the situation about the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Three people were killed in firing from the Pakistan side in Rajouri district, including the Additional District Development Commissioner, while a woman was killed in Poonch district. A total of 22 people have died in the shelling by Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
Rashida Bi, wife of Munshi Khan from Keri Kangra village, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch, was killed at 7 AM due to pak shelling.
